My story (this whole page is under construction)
Like many artists, I have been passionate about art since I was small but life took some turns before guiding me back to art. During my undergraduate, I have been quite directionless but that allowed me to gain skills and experience in diverse areas and meet wonderful people that I wouldn't have met if I didn't try all those different things. After I started my MA in the UK, I rediscovered my artistic touch and realised that I couldn't live without art. Captivated by the art scene and culture in the UK and especially in London, I decided to stay here and focus on finding my place in this new environment and developing my career as an artist.
While I was pursuing my degree in Journalism and Communication, I directed two short films, produced a number of multimedia projects, curated an exhibition with fellow course-mates as part of my practicum at the Creative Media Lab. I tried to lead an active campus life by being a student society committee member and participating in various activities. For student society, I was the financial secretary of the 53rd Society of Journalism and Communication, a promotional secretary of the Orientation Camp for freshers and the president of the temporary committee. Being also interested in performing art, I have been a set assistant and an actress in two drama productions.
After graduating, I worked part time as a graphic designer, administrator and Go teacher as they aligned to my interest and previous experience. I then switched to a full time position as an in-house graphic designer, looking for improvement in my professionalism. Unfortunately, the environment wasn't ideal and we disbanded soon. Therefore I decided to start a new chapter in life by coming to the UK. Before I set out, I worked as a communication officer in an NGO to help deliver a project for the community and COVID patients.
During my MA, I was a postgraduate student representative for Fine Art in Farnham Campus. I presented my art practice in artist talks in front of a diverse audience and exhibited my work in Bracknell, Cambridge and London. These experience provided me with not only development of skills and professional networking but also with fond memories about people in this country.
